Every ten years, UNESCO conducts a comprehensive evaluation of all biosphere reserves, known as a ”Periodic Review.” The biosphere activities are assessed, and UNESCO decides whether the area may continue to be designated as a biosphere reserve. In 2025, the Kristianstads Vattenrike Biosphere Reserve will undergo its second evaluation.
